CANDIDATE ENDORSEMENTS
FOR THE 2002 ELECTION
|
|
|
(Olathe) -- Kansas
Women for Accountable and Responsible Government (KWARG)
is a statewide group of philosophically diverse women whose
platform focuses on fiscal responsibility, education funding,
and personal safety issues.
Today, they announced their endorsements for the 2002 General
Election. And there were some surprises at the top of the
ticket. For one, the group of women endorsed gubernatorial
candidate Tim Shallenburger rather than Kathleen Sebelius.
“Ms. Sebelius voted against sexual predator registration,”
said Maria Holiday, KWARG Chairperson. “Our members place
a high priority on personal safety, and there’s simply no
excuse for that vote.”
Other top of the ticket endorsements include Sally Finney
(D) for Kansas Treasurer, and Phill Kline (R) for Attorney
General.
“The candidates we’re endorsing cross party lines and gender
lines, but they have one thing in common,” announced Holiday,
“they’re forward thinking, fiscally responsible, and place
a priority on personal safety.”
A complete list of K.W.A.R.G.’s endorsements will be available
at their website by the end of the week. That address is
www.KWARG.com.
